Located in the bustling area of Lincoln Square at 4337 North Lincoln, Cobblestone combines casual down-home culture with modern sophistication.
There's a European influence to the solid menu that has evolved at Cobblestone thanks to executive chef Andre Overton.
The brunch menu is divided into three sections for readers to digest easily as they grasp the well-curated menu.
A Lil' Sweet starts at the top but could easily be flipped to the bottom as dessert to finish off the experience. The Nutella Crepes are filled with the hazelnut cocoa spread and topped with powdered sugar. This makes a perfect pairing with coffee to unwind on the weekend.
A Lil' Savory contains the meat and potatoes of the meal thanks to the popular Hangover Hash. Served the day after a long night of boozy and carousing in a skillet several ingredients are heaped on top of each other to satisfy even the hungriest customer. Look for big chunks of beef, potatoes, mozzarella cheese, massive fried onion rings, a poached egg and a generous amount of demi hollandaise sauce over all of that.
The jalapeño cornbread was dense, but fulfilling.
The Bistro Burger and Smoked Kielbasa Sandwich are also in this stomach-stretching section in the middle of the menu.
A Lil' In Between hits just the right spot thanks to the venue's staple of Schnitzel and Waffles. A lemon poppyseed waffle accompanies chicken-friend pork and whipped honey butter. The bourbon maple syrup and a little spicy seasoning take the cake.
Also recommended is the Royal Breakfast which keeps things simple with eggs, pork and potatoes.
To wash it all down choose a Mimosa Flight for a sip of prosecco and rose mixed with refreshing fruit juices including orange juice, lemonade, strawberry and peach puree.
For special holidays and events, Cobblestone offers a seasonal buffet and on May 12, a special Mother's Day menu.
As the weather changes to spring and summer, it's the perfect time to try the patio and enjoy the people-watching paired with an over-the-top vision from Overton.
