Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd brings spirits to Wonderverse

Mon. April 8, 2024

Legendary actor Dan Aykroyd made a rare appearance in Oak Brook, Illinois, at the Wonderverse entertainment complex to promote his popular liquor brand on April 8.

Crystal Head Vodka was founded by Aykroyd and artist John Alexander in September 2008 and manufactured in Canada where the talented comedian is from. This made the perfect match for a batch that quadruple distills the liquid and then filters it seven times. The brand also pairs well with this performer linked to Ghostbusters and spirits, thanks to a skeleton head-shaped bottle inspired by ancient skull art.

There are several variations of the concoction starting with the original clear version made from sweet corn. The second one called Aurora is named after the aurora borealis and the third black bottle made from blue agave is known as Crystal Head Onyx.

The fourth is the most colorful of them all with a rainbow limited edition bottle to celebrate diversity and the LGBTQ+ community.

The product is filtered through quartz crystals found around Herkimer County, New York with no additives and is gluten-free.

Aykroyd has promoted Crystal Head Vodka's Pride edition at queer haunt Roscoe's Tavern in the past, but this time Wonderverse was the place to be.

The man who played Beldar Conehead didn't let an eclipse earlier that day stop his mission to support his out-of-this-world vodka. The huge playground for adults is home to memorabilia from the Ghostbusters franchise including the recently released film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire where Aykroyd returns to his original role of Dr. Raymond Stantz.

He began at The Ghost Trap hidden speakeasy to meet the press and greet a few lucky fans. Aykyroyd served a few specialty drinks with the bartenders and signed autographs to the legion of fans waiting for him in the massive main area of the Sony Picture-owned venue. Many of his enthusiasts dressed in costumes to honor his legacy with some of them waiting the entire day for Aykroyd to arrive. The Windy City Ghostbusters organization not only lugged heavy proton packs around but inducted new members onsite throughout the festivities.

The Blues Brother hit the road soon after meeting the general public as a few fanatics were too aggressive and not ready for this “Prime Time Player.” Although overwhelmed with some of the fanfare, the Emmy Award-winning writer kept in good spirits thanks to crystalheadvodka.com.
