Eden in Chicago, 2734 West Roscoe Street, is cultivating a fresh and healthy menu with many ingredients found right on the property. Chief culinary officer Devon Quinn and executive chef Tim Havidic have curated something truly special at their establishment.
They keep the decor and cuisine fresh and clean with a modern take on American food. While the location is off the beaten path, that actually works to its advantage in terms of parking and the oversaturated market of restaurants in some of the Windy City's various neighborhoods.
Guests will see an outdoor patio, private party rooms and a small market to purchase take-home items right in front. We can all appreciate gender-neutral bathrooms without multiple stalls which are the wave of the future. The dining room's lighting is kept dim for ambiance at night
The onsite 20 by 28 square foot greenhouse filled with organic soil allows the culinary team to be creative and cut out some of the distribution problems currently plaguing the nation this year. They also source locally as much as possible and this makes a huge difference in their products.
Begin your trip to Eden with the burrata and roasted squash starter with tomato confit and a mix of herbs. The Vadouvan (a blend of spices) beet salad is a must-try item at this establishment. It contains Esmee arugula, couscous, cashews and coconut-lime foam that have those taste buds popping and ready for more from this dynamic menu.
The wild mushroom Rotolo is another tasty dish in the entree category and don't miss the grilled flat iron steak served in a black fig romesco.
For a decadent dessert, the opera torte will certainly satisfy by combining almonds, dark chocolate and citrus altogether. The barista will assist in washing this slice of cake down with a vast array of both hot and cold coffee options.
The mixologists on hand have invented some cocktails that elevate your experience that include seasonal ingredients such as pumpkin used in the Back to Basics drink and autumn-harvested infused gin in the Elevenses potion. My guest loved the Streets Ahead tequila-based beverage with sweet agave and a sprig of apple cinnamon shrub to top it off, now that's an original take on a margarita!
With over 14,000 restaurants in the Chicago area, it is a bold statement to say Eden deserves to be in the top 10, but this team has earned it.
Make plans to explore the garden of Eden by clicking over to EdenInChicago.com. For New Year's there is even a special grand truffle tasting menu that includes five courses and paired beverages. That should give revelers something extra to celebrate while saying goodbye to 2022!
