Big Package Auction; A Fundraiser for Chicago Gay Men's Chorus Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus (CGMC) has announced their upcoming fundraiser, “The Big Package Auction” on Saturday, May 16 at Sidetrack in the heart of Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. This event will be highlighted with a live auction of a wide array of exciting, fun-filled prize packages presented by some of CGMC’s and Boystown’s cutest, most-eligible guys. “Nothing’s better than shopping, and we’ve done all the footwork for our guests,” said Quenten Schumacher, CGMC Board member and co-chair for the event. “We’ve put together some fabulous auction packages including prizes and unique experiences, and added some eye-candy with our cute presenters.” The live auction event, which will also feature complimentary cocktails, tasty treats, and an opportunity to win some fabulous door prizes, will raise funds for the general operating support of CGMC, which is celebrating its 27th season and has grown to become the largest volunteer LGBT arts organization in Illinois. “Some of the biggest and best-known businesses and brands in Chicago have contributed to support the performances and outreach work of CGMC,” Schumacher continued. “We’ve got a little bit of everything to appeal to a wide range of tastes and budgets.” Auction packages will include Fitness Packages featuring personal training by Gay Chicago’s Dan Chisholm and training and consultations from Equinox Fitness; Chicago ‘Stay-cation’ Packages including stays at the Palmer House Hilton and Affinia Hotel paired with dinner and a show; a Travel Package with two unrestricted round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines; and a TV News Experience hosted by ABC 7’s weekend anchor Kevin Roy, including a personalized behind-the-scenes studio tour and a sumptuous brunch with Mr. Roy. Special guests and creative package presentations will add to the fun and excitement of the live auction event, at which Steven Zick, Regional Director of Christie’s Auction House, will serve as auctioneer. Principal sponsors of “The Big Package Auction” include Southwest Airlines, Sidetrack, Equinox Fitness and Gay Chicago Magazine.
