Chicago Pride Fest 2021: Vincint

Singer and songwriter Vincint, best known as a finalist on the first season of the singing competition The Four, graces the Chicago Pride Fest stage on Friday, October 1.

“I cannot wait to be back onstage and seeing people and hugging people and crying, which is very on-brand for me. I just can’t wait to be around people again,” Vincint told Bustle. “I miss connecting and singing to people and seeing them be moved, that will probably be the greatest Pride moment of my 2021.”

The Philadelphia-native appeared on the first season of Fox’s The Four one week before the finale, where he received unanimous “yes” votes from every judge after performing “Creep” by Radiohead.

He named Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Céline Dion, Madonna, Britney Spears, Bjork, and Regina Spektor as early inspirations.

Vincint released his debut album, “There Will Be Tears” to rave reviews on June 11.

Vincint is openly gay, and officially came out when he was 16. His late father sang in a gospel group and some of his first memories of music were old hymns.

His song, “Be Me”, was selected as the anthem of the fifth season of Queer Eye.

Vincint performs the North Stage at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, October 1.

The 20th annual Chicago Pride Fest, which is organized by the Northalsted Business Alliance, runs Friday, October 1 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, October 2 and Sunday October 3 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on N. Halsted St. from Addison to Grace.
