Reeling 2021: Showcase: Global Queer Drama

Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival presents Showcase: Global Queer Drama.

This program collects three dramas from around the world that explore various aspects of the queer experience. From long dormant desires awakened, to family conflict, and fighting against your worst fears, these films delve head first into the messiness and complexity of human relations. In FABIU 80-year-old Arthur tends to his ailing wife Martha, when a young male nurse arrives, drawing out dormant desires in the octogenarian. In SHEER QUORMA a traditional family celebration erupts as tensions over acceptance of a queer non-binary child boil to the surface. In INABITAVEL (UNLIVEABLE) a Brazilian woman searches for her missing trans daughter, fighting against her worst fears.
