Join the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) for World of Chocolate, Chicago’s leading World AIDS Day event, on Thursday, December 5. The signature event is hosted at Revel Fulton Market in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood and raises vital funds and awareness for AFC. Chocolatiers from over 20 of Chicago’s best restaurants, hotels and bakeries will showcase their signature sweet delicacies, savory bites and craft cocktails while competing for the evening’s best creations, decided by a panel of celebrity judges. Please find the list of chocolatiers here. Guests will enjoy a light buffet with premium bites, specialty cocktails, open bar, music, a raffle and punchboard with spectacular prizes galore. This year’s World of Chocolate evokes the glitz and glamour of a 1940s ocean liner cruise, and extravagantly nautical décor will be brought to guests by Kehoe Designs. To further exemplify this year’s theme, AFC hosted World of Chocolate’s October launch event at Her Majesty’s residence of the British Consulate General Chicago. In commemoration of World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, this year’s celebration will honor the local, national and global progress the HIV/AIDS community has made to end the epidemic. The movement has observed the Dec. 1 date as a global effort to increase public awareness, while promoting HIV-related programming and dialogue. Launched in 1988, the global event followed an international summit among health leaders who saw the need for a larger discussion on HIV/AIDS worldwide.
