Bands Across The Water Lakeside Pride presents the London Gay Symphonic Winds World Tour The London Gay Symphonic Winds head across the pond with an eclectic selection of music from Welsh folksong to Lady Gaga. Along with musicians from hometown host Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles, a sibling LGBTQA music group, the performers will fly you around the world with an instrumental story of lands near and far. Symphonic band fans throughout Chicagoland, mark your calendars for this one-night-only performance on Saturday, August 24th! Saturday, August 24th 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Studebaker Theater, 410 South Michigan Ave $15 lakesidepride.org/london Accessibility Percussion typical of symphonic ensembles will be used. There will not be pyrotechnics, strobe lights, or smoke effects. Wheelchairs have a flat path from the sidewalk to the main floor of the theater where there is ADA-accessible seating. There is an elevator to the second floor but second floor seating is not ADA-accessible. ADA-accessible and all-gender restrooms are located on the main floor. Restroom signs are marked with braille. About Lakeside Pride Lakeside Pride Music Ensembles is Chicago’s premier family of performance groups for members and friends of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. Home to three major ensembles – Jazz Orchestra, Marching Band, and Symphonic Band – plus over a dozen chamber ensembles, the organization offers a diverse musical experience for both its audience and members. About London Gay Symphonic Winds The London Gay Symphonic Winds are London’s only symphonic wind band from and for the LGBT communities in London. Their musical aim is to be both fun and challenging. They want to encourage improving musicianship in an enjoyable and supporting environment. They play a wide variety of music to suit their diversity, including band classics, orchestral arrangements, show tunes, and, of course, the odd bit of Abba and Madonna.
