Covers for Cover 10: Women rocking out to help other women!

COVERS FOR COVER is pleased to announce the 10th Year of this Rock Music Benefit on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Doors open at 6.30pm, and tickets are available at Schubas website, $25 in advance, ages 18 and older welcome. We rock out to support Chicago’s most vulnerable children and mothers, and * NEW THIS YEAR * we honor Chicago treasure and Wise Woman Warrior, Dr Dolores Cross for her extraordinary personal and professional journey providing opportunities for women, children and people of color. The event will also feature a compelling silent auction, to include: a signed Jimmy Butler Bulls jersey, music lessons by veteran Old Town School teachers, original artwork, one-of-a kind jewelry, and gift certificates from delectable Chicago restaurants, including Lady Gregorys, Octavia, and Wilde Bar – and a host of other items. COVERS FOR COVER is an incredible night of (8) women-led cover bands rocking out and raising money to give back to the Chicago community. After years of performing original music shows, these musicians pay homage to their favorite rock, folk, punk, and new wave bands to benefit Unity Parenting and Counseling, Inc, who has provided housing and social services to Chicago’s most vulnerable children and mothers for over 30 years. Many of these groups are created just for this Rock Music Benefit, and this year’s fan favorite line-up includes: The Untamed Shrews playing AIMEE MANN, Sandra Antongiorgi playing SADE; The Gingers playing FOO FIGHTERS; Rebecca Jasso playing CAROLE KING; Congress of Starlings playing INDIGO GIRLS; Thumbelina playing HOLE; Nautical Nuns playing TORI AMOS; and Jackass Magnets playing The GO GO'S. Emcees for the night are feminist rock star Dr. Susan Burgess, and Cristina Mercader - lifelong Chicago musician and lead singer of Chicago blues band “Second City Shuffle”. In addition, COVERS FOR COVER Event Producer and rocker Andrea Bunch will join acclaimed soprano Vivian Beckford and COVERS FOR COVER Honoree Dr Cross in a rendition of female power anthem “I Will Survive” – sure to be a sing-a-long highlight of the evening. COVERS FOR COVER 2018 Honoree Dr Dolores Cross says, “Unity Parenting and Counseling Inc’s work speaks to the heart of what we are about as wise women warriors helping each other achieve all we are capable of achieving.” Event Producer Andrea Bunch adds, “We can’t wait to rock COVERS FOR COVER again in 2018, in the hallowed hall of Schubas.
