MAX at Market Days 2018
In 2010, a 17-year old Maxwell Schneider made headlines working as a model while posing with Madonna for a Dolce & Gabbana campaign. “It was surreal,” he told Georgia Voice in 2017. Now at 26, MAX continues to make headlines of his own. The pop singer-songwriter is currently celebrating the release of his sophomore solo album, Hell’s Kitchen Angel, which includes his signature song “Lights Down Low,” along with “Gibberish,” “Wrong,” “Holla” and “Basement Party.” Raised in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen and surrounded by an environment of tolerance, MAX has always stood up as an ally for the LGBT community. “I’ve been surrounded by people who are open about their sexuality my entire life so I guess that’s why I’ve always been an ally and an advocate of it because everywhere we go, I’m just always putting that message out there that people should be able to love who they wanna love whether they’re gay, straight, bi, trans or love themselves because when people love themselves and are the most comfortable with themselves, they do the coolest things with their lives and we have a happier world,” he told the Washington Blade. MAX performs the Addison Bud Light North Stage at 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 12. The 37th annual Northalsted Market Days, which is organized by the Northalsted Business Alliance, runs Aug. 11-12 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Halsted Street between Belmont and Addison. A $10 suggested donation is recommended.
