Artemis Singers “More Than Music” pride concert
Artemis Singers returns to Hyde Park and the soaring gothic acoustically beautiful space in First Unitarian Church of Chicago for our annual pride concert and dance. The concert theme is "More than Music", reflecting the fact that as a community organization, Artemis Singers provides a place where feminist women come together to learn about each other, to harmonize, to socialize, to self-govern, to develop new skills, and to craft a performance. But at our foundation, we always come back to the music and to one another. And since we’re talking about more than music…Artemis Singers is delighted to welcome the stunning poet e nina jay as a guest artist. After the concert, you’ll definitely want to stay for the dance, with tunes spun by DJ OCD (Wanda Rodriguez)! Tickets are a suggested donation of $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Tickets for children 12 and younger, students (with ID) and seniors age 65 and older at $10. The ticket price includes admission to both events. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Affinity Community Services.
