B&B
When Marc and Fred (Tom Bateman and Sean Teale) tried to stay together in a room with a double bed at a B&B a year earlier, they were turned down on religious grounds by Josh (Paul McGann), the conservative owner. After claiming victory in court, the couple return to the remote guest house to flaunt their conjugal rights in Josh’s face. Their short-lived triumph is compounded when they discern that, unbeknownst to him, Josh’s 16-year-old son is gay. But triumph turns to terror for the couple when a hulking Russian giant, Alexie (James Tratas), checks into the B&B. Does Alexie have his own ultraconservative agenda? Or is he there for other purposes? When someone unexpectedly turns up dead, Marc and Fred are overtaken by escalating (and sometimes bloody) events that find them battling for their lives, putting their loving relationship on shaky ground in the process. A stylish homage to Hitchcock with black comedy overtones, B&B is a whip smart, entertaining thriller.
