Cradles to Crayons Hosts Proud Families Service Day
Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit that provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low income situations with the essential items they need to thrive–at home, school, and at play, has partnered with Equality Illinois and Gay for Good to celebrate pride month. Members of the LGBT community are invited to the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory on Proud Families Service Day to help support local children in the Chicago area, living in low-income or homeless situations. Volunteers will work together to inspect, sort, and package all new and gently used donations, such as clothing, school supplies, shoes, toys and more. All interested volunteers must RSVP by emailing Kayla Furjanic at kfurjanic@cradlestocrayons.org ABOUT CRADLES TO CRAYONS Cradles to Crayons launched in 2002 and has operations in Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago. The nonprofit provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive—at home, at school, and at play. They supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need. Cradles to Crayons mobilizes communities of plenty on behalf of communities of need, recycling and reusing high-quality children’s goods and engaging thousands of youth and adults in tangible service activities each year that benefit local children.
