Henry Purcell’s The Fairy Queen
“The Fairy Queen” is a re-imagination of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” set in a sultry Las Vegas nightclub dubbed ‘Club Puck,’ and examining the messes mere mortals make of relationships. “The Fairy Queen” will be performed at Chicago’s historic Studebaker Theater (410 S. Michigan Ave) and features Mark Molomot as Puck and Kim Jones as Tanya. “The Fairy Queen” is conducted by Jory Vinikour. The iconic Culture Clash troupe and COT’s Andreas Mitisek have updated this classic, featuring Purcell’s magical music with the orchestra from Haymarket Opera Company. Performances are on November 5 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. and November 13 at 3 p.m.
