Daddy's Boy
Four young men from different walks of life living in New York City explore their daddy issues and find their lives unexpectedly intersecting as they shed their inhibitions and clothes during money making softcore porn shoots. Max (Al Miro) is a sophisticated Italian living in Canada, who has become an adult film regular and knows the ropes all too well. The night before his latest porn shoot, Max pens a letter to his distant father, then meets and swaps digits with Fabian (Joe Lopez), a Puerto Rican from Queens with gay desires struggling with the challenges of impending fatherhood and reeling from a surprising revelation from his own father. Meanwhile, Manuel (Jonathan Iglesias), a cowboy from Arizona, arrives to shoot a porn scene with Max. But before the cameras roll, he attempts a reconciliation with his older brother Jorge (James Koroni), a gloomy dancer caught up in a thankless relationship with a hyper-critical photographer. Writer-director Daniel Armando’s highly erotic essay finds his characters exploring the boundaries of male identity and sexuality amidst the throbbing intensity of life in New York City. The film’s gorgeous black-and-white cinematography gives it a classic Hollywood feel that doubles down on the film’s voyeuristic undertone.
