Recognizing Neil’s talents, Julia convinces him to post his stories anonymously online. This draws the attention of the site’s administrator, Denis (WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER’s Michael Ian Black) who invites Neil to read live at an upcoming convention and begins an online flirtation with him, unaware of his age. Neil’s fantasies and crushes have focused on men so he’s confused when he finds himself drawn to Julia as the convention draws near. Camp re-enactments of Neil’s gay sci-fi fantasies are a hilarious and lusty highlight of this wonderfully winsome and charming debut film from writer-director Clay Liford that delightfully explores the boundaries of space…and sexuality.
