Chicago’s own filmmaking pioneer Michelle Citron brings us LEFTOVERS, which shows us love and a vibrant community as told through thousands of personal photographs taken over a lesbian couple’s fifty-year relationship. Christine struggles to hide her sexual orientation from her traditional Chinese mother in BALLOT. MOTHERS OF GOD shows us what happens when a lesbian couple discovers they’re pregnant (spoiler alert: one is convinced it’s the second coming of Jesus). These shorts take us through the common struggles of finding our true selves with a big dose of comedy.
