The “Women’s Empower Hour” at Metropolitan Capital (9 E. Ontario St.) welcomes Marcy Twete, Author and Career Development Expert, to host a discussion and Q&A on smart networking strategies at a complimentary luncheon on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 11:30am-1pm. With her extensive background in career development and networking, Twete shares her techniques to turn professional challenges into advantageous opportunities. Twete will discuss: • Identifying the individuals you need surrounding you to get ahead • Honing your most powerful elevator pitch • Creating meaningful and long-term business relationships Marcy Twete is the author of You Know Everybody! A Career Girl’s Guide to Building a Network That Works and a career expert who believes in order to be empowered in your career, you must be surrounded with resources and a network that both supports and challenges you. Marcy began her own networking journey as a professional fundraiser in the nonprofit sector, honed those skills as a fundraising consultant, and in 2012 and 2013 networked her way to nearly 1 million readers as the CEO of the professional development website Career Girl Network. Guests also will come away with tailor-made tools and strategies to become better networkers and stronger professionals. The “Women’s Empower Hour” series, featured quarterly throughout the year, offers informative workshops for proactive women in the Chicagoland area to learn and share ideas, stories and information.
