Imagine Lethal Weapon’s Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as younger and hotter ex-boyfriends forced to work together on a criminal investigation – and you have the basis for the aptly titled Hot Guys With Guns. This gay comedy-action-thriller, a decided audience guilty pleasure, focuses on co-stars Marc Samuel as Danny, a method actor who wants the lead in a detective show and the incredibly hot Brian McArdle as Pip, his ex-boyfriend who was just the victim of a West Hollywood gay sex party robbery. Danny dives into detective work, trying to track down the thieves who have struck other sex parties and Pip goes along for the ride. The film – which starts with a James Bond style credit sequence complete with a theme song – is a loving, silly and often very sexy homage to the old fashioned detective story. Noah’s Arc’s Doug Spearman makes his directorial debut and former Noah’s Arc cast member Darryl Stephens is part of the muscular cast.
