The Catharsis Productions Community Engagement team is pleased to announce a free evening of creative performances about consent in all types of relationships, community and bystander intervention. Music, stand up, slam poetry, video. A positive response to the recent national dialogue surrounding sexual assault, consent, and our culture’s acceptance and perpetuation of violence, reflecting on the work of active bystanders; those willing to take a stand to prevent interpersonal violence and foster a healthy culture of respect. Local anti-violence groups will have information and representatives available to help attendees become involved in whatever way interests them. Prformers will be donating their pay to local groups including A Long Walk Home and Rape Victim Advocates. Because of their success, Catharsis Productions has decided to make it an annual event. The event will also be live tweeted and available by video stream online.
