Chicago Wilderness alliance works to make the Chicago region cleaner, safer, and a better place to live. Join alliance members, volunteers, students, and others to shape the future of regional conservation at the 2012 Chicago Wilderness Congress. Leading the way will be keynote speaker Juan Martinez, recently named an Emerging Explorer by National Geographic. Come learn how this South Central Los Angeles native is dedicating his career to connecting youth with nature, creating the next generation of conservation leaders. Explore science and education in the “Leave No Child Inside” session and learn how children can engage with their natural curiosity instead of a computer screen. Find out more about the 500 species of invasive plants that have been introduced to the Chicagoland area. Learn how community leaders and members can work together to make our region sustainable for generations to come. The registration deadline is Nov. 6, 2012 including breakfast, lunch, an evening reception, and access to all four sessions throughout the day.
