A new course offered by The Peace Center will introduce active writers and journalists, and those who aspire to be, to the specialty of Peace Journalism. Introduction to Peace Journalism: Joining the public conversation about the human future will be taught by Bob Koehler, essayist, poet, nationally syndicated columnist, award-winning journalist and author of Courage Grows Strong at the Wound. “We all have a right to participate in this conversation; we all have the responsibility to stand up for what we believe in,” says Bob, Chicago's most prominent Peace Journalist, whose aim with this four-week workshop is enhancing the writer's ability to “be the media.” The class is open to experienced writers, professional reporters and aspiring journalism majors who want to use their talent to support building cultures of peace.
