InFusion Theatre Company, in association with DCA Theater, presents the world premiere of Randall Colburn’s The Improv Play, directed by the Company’s Artistic Director Mitch Golob, April 10 – May 20, 2012, at the DCA Storefront Theater, 66 East Randolph Street. The Improv Play follows three aspiring improvisers as they seek success and validation on Chicago’s comedy stages after a fellow troupe member leaves for New York to work on “Saturday Night Live.” Incorporating improvisation, stand-up and sketch comedy with scripted material to create a raucous, cutting and honest exploration of performance, talent and ambition, The Improv Play shines a light on the thousands of performers filling out the fringe of the comedy scene. Preview performances are Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. and the opening night performance is Thursday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. Performances throughout the production’s run are Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors (Preview tickets are $10.) and may be purchased by calling 312.742.TIXS (8497) or visiting infusiontheatre.com or dcatheater.org.
