Having left behind the chaos of New York City, Michael Gavin (Jason Butler Harner) and his partner Daniel (Cheyenne Jackson, 30 Rock) hope to lead a simple, harmonious life on the Connecticut shoreline, where Michael has a new job as a high school drama teacher. Michael’s world is quickly turned upside down, however, when a male student accuses him of “inappropriate behavior.” The student’s mother and her ominous boyfriend set a grueling investigation in motion, but Michael wonders whether they seek the truth or money. When his lesbian civil rights lawyer reveals a secret about Michael that even Daniel hadn’t known about, Michael must confront not only the suspicions of his co-workers and the latent homophobia of his friends and neighbors, but the doubts of the man he loves.
