Twin brothers Gary and Larry Lane have written a script with a plum role for their idol, Dolly Parton. Having had no luck getting the screenplay into her hands, they embark on a cross-country journey to personally deliver it to her. Starting out at Dolly’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the crew heads east on Interstate 40 bound for Pigeon Forge, TN, in an RV named "Jolene" with their friend, Mike Bowen. The intrepid band of travelers encounters everything from tornados to floods on their journey. With a soundtrack featuring fifteen of Parton's songs, a single camera, and over 2,000 miles of road, Hollywood to Dollywood is an inspiring documentary about the joy of driving your dreams down the road of life.
