Three Veils

The lives of three very different young Middle Eastern women living in the U.S. intersect as they struggle to defy tradition and find their own way. Leila is arranged to be married, but as the wedding night approaches she becomes unsure of how her life is playing out. When she finally makes a desperate attempt to get out of the arrangement, things go terribly wrong. Amira is a devout Muslim struggling with repressed feelings toward women, but when these feelings start surfacing, she finds herself in a battle between her faith and her love. The object of Amira’s affection is Nikki (Sheetal Sheth, I Can’t Think Straight, The World Unseen), a lost soul battling her own demons after a tragic death in her family results in a cold and abusive relationship with her father. As we peer behind each woman's "veil," we understand more about her history, her wounds, and her heart.
