This haunting documentary tells the story of Angie Zapata, a transgender teen who was murdered in rural Greeley, Colorado in 2008. Director Alan Dominquez skillfully weaves interviews about Angie’s journey of self-discovery, told through family and friends, with the stories of transgender lives across the globe, and the 2009 trial of her murderer, which was the first time national hate-crime legislation was applied to a transgender victim.
