Couple search for missing dogs after north side break in

Charlie Gurion and David Wilk are searching for their missing dogs following a break in at their Avondale home Tuesday morning.
Robbers left their home near the intersection of Belmont and Sacramento with three laptop computers, but it's unclear if the dogs were taken or if they ran out after the door was kicked open in the robbery.
The couple returned home around 11 a.m. on Tuesday to find two of their dogs missing and two dogs still in the home. Missing are 18-month-old Rue and 9-month-old Pierre, both French bulldogs. Rue is deaf and takes medicine daily, so her return is critical.
"We don't care about the other things they stole," Gurion told ChicagoPride.com. "We just want our dogs back. No questions asked and we'll give a reward to anyone that can help find them."
Rue is a female, white with tan markings and Pierre is a grey and tan male. Neither of the dogs are micro chipped, so the couple is asking for help from neighborhood residents. Anyone with information can contact the owners at (815) 603-8177 or david@sharethis.com.
Gurion and Wilk are active members in Chicago's LGBT community and are newlyweds. They became the first same-sex couple in Cook County to receive a marriage license on Feb. 21 after a federal judge ruled there was no reason for residents of Cook County to wait until the state's new gay marriage law takes effect on June 1. The couple wed on Feb 22.
