Knoxville, Tenn. -
Virulently anti-gay Tennessee State Sen. Stacey Campfield (R-Knoxville) was kicked out of a Knoxville restaurant on Sunday.
"I told him to leave," Bistro at the Bijou owner Martha Boggs told
KnoxNews.com. "He's really gone from being stupid to dangerous. He needs to know what it's like to be discriminated against."
Last year, Campfield was the sponsor of the "Don't Say Gay" bill. He also
recently claimed that AIDS spread to humans when a gay airline pilot had sex with a monkey during an interview on Sirius XM's OutQ. And he also claims it is "virtually impossible" for straight people to get AIDS.
Monday's menu board at
The Bistro read: "Today's Special: Fried Chicken, No Stacey."
"I'm a married, heterosexual woman," Boggs said. "I had no intention of doing this for publicity. But he's an embarrassment to the state."
Posting in a
blog, Campfield responded by comparing himself to Jesus Christ and the civil-rights demonstrators of the 1960s.
