Louisville Agrees To 'Substantial' Settlement In Breonna Taylor Shooting

The city of Louisville has reportedly reached a settlement with Breonna Taylor's family six months after officers broke into her home without warning and shot her.
According to NBC News, the “substantial” financial agreement is in the millions of dollars and will include a list of police reforms that will address officer accountability and the execution of search warrants.
The 26-year-old Louisville woman was shot dead after Louisville Metro Police Department officers broke down her apartment door March 13 to serve a signed no-knock search warrant in connection with a narcotics investigation centered 10 miles away. No drugs were found and Taylor was unarmed.
Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, filed a lawsuit in late April against three officers, accusing them of wrongfully causing her daughter's death.
None of the officers involved in the case have been charged.
The investigation is being led by Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who spoke at the Republican National Convention in support of President Donald Trump.
After Taylor's death, the hashtag 'Say Her Name' was created to bring attention to the number of Black women - including transgender men and women - killed by the police.
