After suffering minimal damage, Scarlet will be open Wednesday as usual

Chicago, IL - Paul Cannella, the owner of Scarlet Bar, confirmed Monday afternoon that the popular Boystown bar has "some minor repairs (needed), but we'll be open as normal" following a small fire on Sunday night, March 1.

A fog machine caught on fire, but was quickly extinguished by Scarlet staff.

"While no injuries were reported, The Chicago Fire Department advised us to remain closed for the remainder of (Sunday) night to clean up," Scarlet posted on social media on March 1.

This fire incident comes almost 10 years to the day of an extra-alarm fire at Scarlet that sent more than 100 firefighters to battle the blaze that impacted the commercial and residential building. That 2-11 alarm fire erupted at about 7:15 a.m.

After the 2009 fire, Scarlet was closed for seven months, which was about three months longer than first anticipated. But Cannella said at the time that they faced a number of delays when rebuilding the destroyed building.
