Join the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) to celebrate life, love and chocolate at 6:00 p.m. on December 4 during A World of Chocolate, AFC's annual benefit to commemorate World AIDS Day. This unique benefit offers imaginative and delectable chocolate creations from more than 20 of Chicago's finest restaurants, caterers and hotels. As if that wasn't enticing enough, event-goers will also have the opportunity to "rub elbows" with local Chicago celebrities as they judge the best dish from each category.
Some of the mouthwatering treats featured on this year's menu include deep-fried rum chocolate truffles, chocolate crepes, chocolate fruit trifle, milk chocolate mousse, chocolate martinis and much more. Awards will be given in four categories: Hot Chocolate Award for overall tastiest treat, Loco Cocoa Award for most creative use of chocolate as an ingredient, Sweetbooth Award for best presentation and Chocoholic's Dream Award for most visually enticing treat.
The spectacular event will also include a "Holiday Bazaar" featuring ornaments and gifts from Christopher Radko, Marshall Field's and other merchants, as well as a light buffet, open bar and musical entertainment.

Hydrate Chocolate Martini
1 oz vodka
1 oz chocolate liqueur
1 oz creme de cacao
Use cocoa powder to rim a martini glass. Mix ingredients in a shaker over ice, strain into chilled glass. Garnish with chocolate.
Note: To create different flavors of chocolate martinis simply add a 1/2 shot of your favorite flavored schnapps. Try peppermint with a candy cane garnish or let your imagination run wild.
