Spice up your life at Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap

Anchored at 41 East Superior Street on the corner of Wabash Avenue, Jake Melnick's Corner Tap is part of the River North neighborhood in Chicago.

Part of the Levy hospitality company, which focuses on entertainment venues, Jake Melnick's offers much more than casual gatherings and sports programming. There are private event spaces and a breezy patio in addition to the bar and full-service dining areas.

The programming at the Tap is cultivated year-round by the team. This ranges from Happy Hour specials and Trivia Tuesdays to wing-eating contests.

An inventive promotion titled Get Sauced is designed to goose up even more of the restaurant's legacy in the world of poultry. Participants can battle it out after forming teams and dreaming up a catchy name for their group in a private room. The place settings are transformed into a workspace to stimulate creativity. There's a checklist to narrow down the components and proper utensils to mix together offerings from an ingredients station. Add a dash of this and that while experimenting with a variety of flavors. Choose elements that include spicy, sweet or savory flavor profiles surrounding your concept.

Following a whisk and a prayer, the in-house judging panel will taste test the mixtures and provide feedback. The winner, winner chicken dinner, will eventually be decided and announced before the curated sauces are spread over a chicken wing or leg and cooked.

For this special package, guests receive two hours of a premium bar, two slider platters and all the items necessary to build their own sauce. This team-building activity begins with at least 10 participants for $95 a person and can be set up as a private booking on the website.
