OUT at CHM: Queer Expression in Public Spaces
Join OUT at CHM at the Center on Halsted for a cocktail reception, panel discussion, vendor marketplace, and viewing of the short film, Lives: Visible directed by panelist, Michelle Citron. The discussion will be moderated by author Owen Keehnen and will include director Michelle Citron, artist Patric McCoy, and photographer Andie Meadows. Through photography, journalism, and social media, the history of queer touch tells the tale of disrupting heteronormative standards in both public and private spaces. At this panel discussion, explore the evolution and documentation of LGBTQ sexuality over the decades. This program looks at how open and public spaces like the lakeshore have provided opportunities for intimacy while the documentation of such acts puts forth a powerful message about politics, sexuality, and love.
