Center of My World

Things are different at home when adorable 17-year-old twink Phil (Louis Hoffman) returns from summer camp: something has come between his free-spirited mother, Glass, and his twin sister, Dianne, though neither will talk to him about it. But Phil doesn’t dwell on it for long, as he’s busy reconnecting with his best gal pal Kat the next day at school and doing his best to catch the eye of the school’s new arrival, Nicholas, a strapping jock who shines on the track field. Phil contrives an accidental after-school meeting with Nicholas and is surprised to learn that his ardor is returned. A hot affair begins between the two sex-crazed teens and Phil finds himself falling hard for this dark, mysterious Adonis. But Nicholas—who hails from a wealthy family—isn’t about to have limitations put on his emotions or his sexual identity and it soon appears that Phil might be headed for heartache. In the interim, the rift between his sister and mother starts to affect his relationship with both. With everything suddenly falling apart, will Phil ever be able to find the center of his world again? Erwa’s energetic debut film palpably captures the high drama and rampant sexuality inherent in adolescence in this winning coming of age tale.
