June Queer Contra: Pride
Queer Contra is at it again, celebrating Pride. Wear your rainbows, bring your flags, however and whoever you identify as come and CELEBRATE! Contra is the perfect way to round out your Pride month, the day before the parade, no less. Contra is a traditional folk dance, born in New England that welcomes left feet and is inherently queer in nature. If you have no experience, don't worry! We'll help! If you're nervous, no sweat. Everyone is supportive. If you identify as LGBT, love live music, dance, and a loving community? We've been waiting for you. The dance is from 7:00 - 9:30 pm with an introduction for beginners from 6:30 - 7 pm. To help pay for the band, caller, and dance hall, we request attendees donate $10, payable at the door. No advance planning or experience is needed and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Potluck snack and beverages encouraged.
