Access Living will host an artists’ collective and a performance research series. Petra Kuppers, leader of The Olimpias, is a disability culture activist, a community performance artist, and a Professor of English, Women’s Studies, Art and Design and Theatre at the University of Michigan. The Helping Dances are an opportunity to enact interdependence. Together, and in somatic flow, participants activate thoughts and emotions about the network of helper economies they are part of, along with their relations to issues of class, age, ethnicity, race, disability and sexuality.
