The Northalsted Business Alliance, with Triangle Neighbors Association, a branch of the Lake View Citizens' Council, will present for the 16th consecutive year, a group of creative souls will bare their alter egos, dark sides, or their shadows, to the world on Halloween, parading them from Waveland down through one of Chicago's hottest nightclub districts: North Halsted Street. The Northalsted Halloween Parade has quickly gained its well-deserved reputation as having no equal in any other large American city. This fiercely competitive show of creative, imaginative costumes is at once thought-provoking, funny, stimulating, compelling, colorful, and always larger than life. Several categories even offer great prizes! A panel of distinguished judges vote to name the winners! Entertainment: Participation in the parade is FREE! Dress in your best costume, and join the parade at Circuit Nightclub! Enter your ghoulish get-up or freaky fashion into our costume contest. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Best Pet Costume, Best Drag Costume, Scariest Adult Costume, Most Original Adult Costume, Best Group or Couple and Audience Choice. Prizes are awarded in these categories: * Best Pet Costume * Best Drag Costume * Best Couple * Best Group * Scariest Adult Costume * Most Original Adult Costume * Audience Choice Registration - Registration for Adults and Groups will be held from 5:00pm-6:00pm at Circuit Nightclub, 3641 N. Halsted. You can print out a registration form at www.northalsted.com. Please bring all pre-filled out forms to registration on the day of the parade. PARADE SCHEDULE (Parade begins at Waveland and will travel south down Halsted Street to Belmont) -5 PM -6pm Check in for the parade at Circuit Nightclub. -Arrive by 6 p.m. in costume and march in the parade! -7 PM Parade begins -8 PM Stage show begins at Main Stage in the CTA turnaround at Halsted and Belmont. Costume contest winners will be announced at the stage show! Families with children 12 years or older are invited to participate in the parade. Due to the later start time (7 p.m.) and extended route the parade is best for older children. Families with children younger than 12 are welcome to watch the parade along the route. Parking restrictions: Parking will be prohibited on Halsted Street from Belmont and Grace on Monday, Oct. 31 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Halsted Street closure: Halsted Street from Belmont to Addison will be closed to vehicle traffic from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. on Oct. 31; Halsted Street from Addison to Grace will be closed from 4 p.m.-midnight on Oct. 31.
