Chicago, IL — More than 150 riders will bike from Chicago to Lake Geneva, WI, on June 7 and June 8 during the Ride for AIDS Chicago. Team Steamworks is the largest team making the journey in the fight against AIDS.

In Chicago, Steamworks has partnered with two of the leading HIV /AIDS services organizations, Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) and Better Existence with HIV (BEHIV), the charitable agencies producing the Ride for AIDS Chicago.

"We have a long history of providing fun and relaxing venues for our members, and our focus has always been about their health and wellness," said Nirmalpal Sachdev, Steamworks Chicago general manager. "TPAN and BEHIV have long been educating Chicago's GLBT community members about HIV/AIDS and also providing outreach, HIV testing and counseling on a regular basis at the club. Joining the Ride for AIDS Chicago is another way of continuing our support of both of these organizations for all the work they do in our community."

Each rider is responsible for raising $1,000. Members from Team Steamworks will host the following fund-raising events throughout Chicago in support of the Ride for AIDS:

Saturday, May 3, 1 to 6 p.m., Steamworks Chicago, 3246 N. Halsted, featuring DJ Dexter St. Jacques; portion of the door proceeds will go to Team Steamworks
Saturday, May 10, time TBA, Jackhammer, 6406 N. Clark, featuring Jackhammer DJs and Team Steamworks' members selling jello shots and passing tip jars.
Team Steamworks is in the process of confirming additional fund-raising events. For a list and details of these events, Steamworksonline.com/chicago" target="new">www.Steamworksonline.com/chicago.
