Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie getting married - even though gays cannot

Hollywood — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie promised they wouldn't get married until everyone -- including gays and lesbians -- could get married.

Now, it looks like they're going back on that 2006 promise.

The couple announced their engagement on Friday.

At least one gay group is making peace with the issue.

"We congratulate them on their engagement, and thank them for continuing to speak out about the inequality that so many gay and lesbian couples face today," GLAAD spokesman Rich Ferraro told the LA Times. "No loving and committed couple should be denied the happiness, joy and legal protections that come with marriage."
