Los Angeles, CA — On his L.A. radio show this morning, Carson Daly said he does not believe gay people would have been able to restrain Clayton Osbon, the JetBlue pilot who recently freaked out midair.

"Most of the people were on their way to some sort of security conference in Las Vegas ... it was like a bunch of dudes and well trained dudes ... thank god," quipped Daly.

Daly continued, "With my luck, it would be like ... 'this is the flight going to [the gay pride parade] in San Francisco ... I mean, that would be my colleagues."

"Uh, we're headed down to Vegas for the flower convention," Daly said with a lisp.

Daly apparently forgot about Mark Bingham, the openly gay 6-foot-4 rugby player who was among the passengers that stormed the cockpit of United flight 93 on September 11, 2001.

Late this afternoon, Daly offered an apology via Twitter.

Daly is also the host of NBC's The Voice
