Barney Frank announces marriage plans
Washington, D.C. —
Barney Frank (D-MA), an openly gay Congressman, has announced plans to marry his boyfriend of almost five years, Jim Ready of Maine. Ready is 42.
No date has been set for the Massachusetts wedding, one of six states along with Washington, D.C., which allows same-sex marriage.
Frank, who announced his retirement from Congress late last year, is 71. Frank will be the first member of Congress to marry a same-sex partner.
