The search is over for the most-Googled gay in 2011. Singer Ricky Martin tops the list for most searched gay celebrity in 2011 according to The Advocate.
The gay glossy released their 2011 Most Googled Gays and Lesbians last week. Topping the list were celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, singer Elton John and Martin, who turned 40 on Saturday.
The Puerto Rican singer moved from fifth last year to first. He was most-likely given a boost from the release of his first album since 2005.
Fashion designer Marc Jacobs ranked fourth, followed by singer Adam Lambert.
Rounding out the top ten are television host Ellen DeGeneres, singer George Michael, actor Neil Patrick Harris, fashion designer Alexander McQueen and gay rights activist Dan Choi.
Glee star and Chicago-native Jane Lynch was ranked at number 16.
New to the list of 20 names were recently out actor Zachary Quinto, television host and author Suze Orman, television host and designer Nate Berkus and Jillian Michaels. Orman's rise was perhaps do to the March 2011 release of her new book, The Money Class: Learn to Create Your New American Dream
