Lawsuit: Parkinson's drug made me a gay sex addict

Nantes, France — A 51-year-old French man, Didier Jambart, is suing a multi-national drug company because he says their Parkinson's drug made him addicted to gay sex and gambling.

The drug, called "Requip," is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. ABC News said it's a dopamine agonist that treats symptoms of Parkinson's, like tremors and stiffness.

Jambart said it prompted him to seek out risky sexual encounters and that he was raped. The plaintiff is a married man with two children.

"There are plenty of reports of people developing side effects from Parkinson's drugs, such as hypersexuality, gambling and excessive shopping," neurologist Dr. David Standaert told ABC News.

ABC News said that similar lawsuits involving patients addicted to shopping and sex against other companies selling dopamine-impacting drugs had been successful.

I knew there was a name for it. Hypersexuality. Anabolic steroids do the same thing to me. The extreme urge to jump on a dude and go to town on him.
