Sunday started off the week right with Chicago House's Brunch at the library downtown. Attendees dress in pastels and even a few questionable short shorts to kick off spring. Linda Clifford sang while models walked the runway.
One of the best live auctions I have heard in a while raised funds for this worthy organization that now focuses on the transgender community.

I attended a Belvedere party at the Waldorf Astoria's Bernard's Bar and ran into lots of old friends including our server Rachel who I had worked with in the past. After we headed out to meet Carol Burnett and see her Q&A show. The old clips from her show kept me and the rest of the blue hairs reminiscing. Carol was such a joy and she remembered our interview from January so it meant a lot to me personally. I'm so glad I had my time together with her.

I met with the gay writer's club then ran over to a Taste for the Arts gala at the Harris. With Semi Precious Weapons and the students putting on the show, it was easy to be entertained before heading over to dinner with Rick Bayless and the Top Chefs. The samples were amazing but the clear plastic chairs were hard to maneuver through. A private dinner with Rick garnered $21,000, a little too rich for my blood.

I drove halfway to Mexico with covering the Queer Prom at the museum in Pilsen. It was adorable to see the LGBT youth get together and celebrate. My buddy Antonio provided a buffet and Gozamos who I write for held a photo booth.
I then went to Goodman Theatre gala that was cabaret themed. The show with Broadway star Laura Benanti kept everyone entertained then the band took over and people danced all night.

Center on Halsted's Human First gala finished off the week with drinks and a buffet. Located at the same space as the Taste's earlier in the week, those pesky chairs were back to get in the way.
Guests moved next door to the Harris Theater where Andy Cohen talked about his show and book.
After k.d. Lang took up the reins and belted out that signature voice. She brought up local fave Miss Foozie to finish out the night singing "Big Bone Gal."
