Nest place in Boystown. Bar staff is great and dancers are hreater. Been goig to Horseshoe since 1996. A great place for men.

Yet, even women who make fun of gays are servered. May the Horseshoe have many more years of serving the gay community.

If my memory is right this bar has been there since 1995 - before that it was the Inner Circle on Clark. It is a friendly place - excellent bar tenders and very kind dancers.

Don't miss the Horseshoe - Do miss Sophie.

Very friendly place - good bar staff (esp Jeff a cute new barman) and a good selection of dancers, including twinks, latinos, muscle types.

There's a stripper here named Blake who works Thurs-Sundays who is just awesome. Cute, blue-eyed boy next door type.

There's a dancer here for whatever you like, really. The bar is like something from the Way Back Machine - very retro feel, with no attitude. It is what it is. They even have cheesey bar games to play while you're waiting for the dancer you like to hit the stage. Great place for people watching, as the customers are often more interesting than the dancers. Best kept secret in Boystown is how fun this place really is -- much better time than the stand and model bars like Sidetrack or Minibar.

Sunday july 12 the Lucky Horseshoe was taken over by a herd of broads wearing "SCORES" shirts. What is this? I thought this was a gay bar.

Lucky the weren"t raided because I know that some of these broads were under age.....Many of the patron were so disgusted they got up and left. I hope this doesn't happen again. I want to keep Lucky Horseshoe as my favorite.

The Shoe is trashy, but is that a bad thing!?! It's a strip bar! The staff is friendly (for the most part) and the dancers are hot (sometimes).

I like to start my night off here and then head north for dancing.

Started coming here in 06 and always find some dancers who show me attention. You have to pick and choose , but I always have fun and feel at home with many of the dancers .

Every person has his own taste, but I always find some of the guys to be cute , adorable and sexy. I have fooled around with dancers in many cities like New York, Ft. Lauderdale , and Montreal. Lucky HorseShoe dancers are much more humble, friendly and reasonable and not out to hassle you for your money. Just try going to Montreal and you will see what I mean and what they charge there to touch a dancer !! Kudos to the lovely boys at Lucky Horseshoe, and keep up the good work and hiring such a nice variety of good kids !!!

The place looks old and decripit. The chairs are platic in one side, maybe resurrected from a closed bar somewhere.

The bartenders are not as friendly as they should be. The toilets stink and needs ameneties. The lighting and the stage are so dated. The dancers. I went there 6 times at different seasons, lots of latino, dancers who hustle and are ugly. well not all, one was cute... but he was polish Puerto rican, i think his name was Jeff. I remember going to LHS in the 90's... management was a different hing then. Dancers were all gorgeous, selct and happy to entertain. There was a period the last wto year that LHS had OLD, almost horrible to look at dancers. I am just windering whether they pay the dancers right, coz the pickings are definitely very slim. They say they audition everyweek...but I see no improvement. I went back several tims on a sunday afternoon and the place was dead, with 2 ugly, boring dancers. My parking fee of $6.00 and a drink for $5.oo was wasted. i stayed for 3 minutes and left the place. The bartender said the other dancers will come at 6;00 pm and at 8:00 I went back expecting a resurrection! Jees! I have never seen a batch of ugly men and boys, so thin and so desperate for tips in my life. I miss Madrigals. I miss the Lucky Horshoe of the 90s when Sofie was alive. They should fire the old marine doubling as a manager! he does not know how to run a bar like LHS! Hopefully, ben, the man behind the LHS will wake up and invest some money to resurrect the place and claim its place in Boystown as a must stop for all!

Lets be honest.. this place is a landmark to be sure, however..it is not altogether a place of high caliber or reputation.

Stopped in with a few friends last Sunday and after paying $25 for four rail drinks, the bartender conveniently lifted the remaining $25 in change off the bar when he "freshened up" the cocktail napkins. Had we not had the guts to ask him where the money went .. he's have kept it under the bar where he had it sitting in case we asked. I won't berate the place ...I don't think this is typical. But I also won't go back. The dancers, although nice to look at, were less than enthused to be there. Who knows.. maybe it was just a bad time to be there.

Lucky Horseshoe is an enjoyable bar. The dancers are always gorgeous and nice to you. Start your night out here if bar hopping and work your way north.

You'll hae a good time.

I always make a point to go there every time I'm downtown not only for the dancers,well at my young age and cute looks? I never got horny with the dancers except for one who just left.

I go there because of the friendly bartenders,though there are a few who aren't,and the friendly dancers though not all,probably because they thought I didn't have the money.In general,I feel comfortable staying there.Where is Sean now and Carlos?

Too bad to see the current negative reviews, visited Chi-town in '99, a dancer named John and a few others were really hot.

In fact John gave me a personal show at bar closing I'll never forget, too bad I couldn't persude him to come back to the hotel....damn

The Shoe is definitely the friendliest bar on Halsted St. Don't go for the dancers... most are 40yo + and should no longer be dancing, but they are all friendly, as are the bartenders and other customers.

Carlos is absolutely beautiful, as is Shaun. It is a good, fun bar to go to for after work drinks or to start your night out.

This is a great bar with very freindly staff and very fine dancers. Go there just for a drink or to watch the porn in the backroom! Sean is the hottest dancer on earth! hot hot hot!

For a long time, this bar was on a downward slide, but they are definitely working on improving the place and it shows.

The dancers are getting hotter (look for Manuel!!!) and the bartenders can be a lot of fun.

I think this bar is awesome!!! And the strippers are incredible. If you only get to go there one night, you have to go the night Cliff? is working.

I am not sure of his name...but he's got blone hair, a great bod, and he gets your libedo going!

This is a sad bar - strippers typically look quite worse for the wear and the clientele isn't exactly much better.

Much better strippers at Cocktail on Tues/Thurs or at Madrigal's in Andersonville any night of the week. At the bottom of the list for what Halsted Street has to offer.
