Built in 1911, this 949-seat auditorium is attached to St. Alphonsus Church. Today, the Athenaeum is under the direction of SCT Productions and is a venue for community and professional theater.

The Anthenaeum sponsors Dance Chicago, a five week dance festival which delights audiences, showcasing the best of Chicago dance as well as new and emerging artists, during the month of November every year.
