DIFFERENCE IN YOU: Knowing Your Friends!

I have some of the best friends! Honestly, they are what make me who I am! Every day they provide advice, care, and love. I don't know where I would be in my life without them. It's safe to say that I would not have the blessings I have today if they weren't a constant presence in my life.

Those that call me friend know that I am a weird guy when it comes to their appreciation. I am that dork that writes notes, sends texts, and stops in the middle of an activity to tell them how much they mean to me. I don't know why I do it, I just really value them!

Having a good base of friends is really important. It takes time and work, but it's well worth it! (Remember, you have to be a friend to make one!) Having that foundation of friendship can be a source of strength during tough times. Take for example the resent situation of a friend of mine. He was going through a hard break-up and found himself surrounded by the love and support of his friend base. He barley had to say a word and we were ready to drop whatever it was we were doing to love and support him. We know that he would do the same for us. (And, he has for me on countless occasions!!)

Listening to the counsel of friends is very critical! Think of how many decisions you have to make in a day. I don't know about you, but my friends help me a lot in making some of those choices! They know me when I am not at my best. They know the private Bill. They know the public Bill. They know the Bill that is happy and hurt. I have invited them to speak into my life. (And, they do!) Each of them has such a different opinion and yet they all poses the same Make A Difference attitude.

Giving back to your friends is essential! For all they do for you, you need to make moments of appreciation for them! Treasure them for the influence they give into your life. Treat them to a nice dinner.

My friend Ben Hartman and I celebrate our Friend Anniversary every year. It's a time to honor each others influence in our lives, share a meal, and look at guys! (Opps! Did I just write that!?!?!)

During this time of PRIDE I can truly say that I am BEYOND proud of the friends I have. I am thankful for them and I love them dearly!!

Cheers to you, my Friends!
