The Columbia College Chicago Education Department celebrates its 20th anniversary with a panel titled, “Is There a Role for Progressive Education Today?”
Bill Ayers, former distinguished professor of education and senior university scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago; Heidi Aranda, principal of Ochoa School in Tucson, Arizona; and Lucinda Lee Katz, head of Marin Country Day School and former chief education officer for Chicago Public Schools, will discuss the role of progressive education within the context of today’s children, teachers, communities and political climate.
