Where? The Burlington, 3425 W. Fullerton Ave., Chicago
Featuring DJs Josie Bush, Miss Summer Clearance and Panakin Skywalker, plus special guest host Shea Coulee.
Subject to Change will be hosting a celebration of all things queer and dear to draw awareness to the importance of community building and the roots of Pride. It can often be easy to forget among the corporate sponsorships and political floats that Pride celebrations began to commemorate the brave souls who stood up against police brutality at the Stonewall Inn in 1969.
The queer community has grown exponentially since Stonewall, both politically and socially. And while there will always be work to be done, we invite you to come and celebrate the beautiful community we have all worked to build and more importantly we invite you to come and celebrate yourselves. Be yourself, love yourself, werq yourself.
As a special Pride gift to all you wonderful Chicago queers and pals, there'll be no suggested donation this time around. Use that extra ca$h to tip your bartenders extra well and consider chipping in a book or two for a copy of our community zine.
